I can say, as a 21 year old queer woman, that if you are not the target audience, it's a lot harder to get the treatment you need. in 2012 I walked into the doctor's office with my mother and got 12 months of pills that same day. Now, in 2019, I walk into [redacted] Medical and sit down with the doctor. He asks lots of personal questions about why I say I don't want children and why I won't consider other options like the IUD. He kept on and on and on until I finally snapped and told him that lesbians have more trouble accidentally getting pregnant... He ended up referring me to another branch with a real ObGyn.
